I’m studying for my Philosophy class and need an explanation.

In discussing the concept “multicontextual”, the text mentions the historical context and the term “cohort”. Each cohort probably has advantages and disadvantages over previous and future cohorts.

1. Imagine you were born in the same cohort as your grandparents! What advantages/disadvantages/experiences would be different?
2. How would you define your developmental context? What was your SES, ethnicity, language, cultural identity as a child?
3. Name two significant historical events that have shaped your cohort. What impact have they had that makes your cohort different from previous cohorts?
4. Why do you think it’s important to study children by cohort?

(Factors that might be considered include: education, nutrition, social/entertainment opportunities, economics circumstances, medical care, political/national circumstances such as freedoms/restrictions/wars, etc.)
