Your Response / Information
The power of introverts by Susan Cain
Managers
Managers should realize that there are introverts in their
workforce.
About half of employees are introverts.
Many employers may not realize if their employees are
introverts, because the employees get into habit of acting
like extroverts.
Employers expect their employees to operate at their level
best, efficiently and they are motivated. Thus, to realize that
there are employees who are introverts and to get their best
of brains can be a challenge.
Many people have misconception about what introvert is.
Many people think that introversion is linked to shyness or
antisocial. However that is not the case, it has to do with the
way one responds to stimulation. It is usually based on the
nervous system level and not based on preference.
How do introverts act
Environment
Introverts feel alive and more energized when based in a
quite environment. On the other hand, extroverts need large
stimulation amount to feel better. The environment thus
plays a significant role in our social life. Therefore
introverts are not antisocial, they prefer to socialize in quite
ways
In work place if introverts have an issue they would prefer
talking it quietly and casually on one with a person than
holding an office meeting to sort it out. Both ways can solve
the issue but introverts would not prefer the latter.
Many offices are designed for extroverts according to
( Susan 2012)
Open Office plans can influence productivity as well as
emotional health. Introverts works better in a quite
environment and less stuffed which is opposite of this. Thus
requires mental energy to concentrate.

However, it tends to create a close relationship with
employees. But true connection is based on privacy level
and intimacy level.
Every office manager should not always emphasize on
group work that most offices emphasize on today.
Office group work
Principle of group work
When one is in a group criticism is obvious of one’s
opinion. Everyone is influenced by other opinion and ends
up disregarding his/her own view.
However there are those that wish for solitude. Thus also
need to bring it back to our workplaces. Though bringing
people together is good to exchange ideas its necessary to
have a solitary aspect at first.
It’s still difficult to find solitude when alone
People feel connected to their mobiles, emails, Google
calendars, Facebook and twitter accounts.
However, this distraction is not burdensome compared to
those in an open office plan. This is because in office you
could be interrupted with conversations and meetings.
Many people don’t recognize that introversive people has
unique strength. However they have a unique power.
Power of introverts
creativeness
They are creative people especially because they are always
in solitude. They also find emotional peace when doing so.
They work really hard and always persistent.
They have high level of concentration that most extroverts
do not have.
leadership
They are also good leaders. They are dynamic, kind and
charismatic. Many powerful leaders are known to be
introverts.
They give room for ideas from employees unlike extroverts
who are dominant. Though shy and quite many leaders
influenced many people because they did not have ego.
We realize that there introverts exist with us and it may be
hard to recognize.
Many offices don’t recognize the existence of introvert
employees.
Both employees, either introverts or extrovert need an
environment where they can feel secure.
More than half of employees are introverts and managers
