Week 1 Overview
This week, we will cover information in chapter 1 and 2 in the text.  The key topics that we cover in chapter one are a basic overview of business intelligence, analytics, data science, and artificial intelligence.  In chapter two we focus on the concepts, drivers, major technologies, and business applications in the Artificial Intelligence space.
Please don’t forget to complete the readings prior to answering the discussion questions this week.

Objectives

By the end of this week, you should be able to:

1. Understand the need for computerized support of managerial decision making.
2. Understand the development of systems for providing decision-making support.
3. Recognize the evolution of such computerized support to the current state of analytics/data science and artificial intelligence.
4. Describe the major AI technologies and some derivatives.
5. Discuss the manner in which AI supports decision making.
