You work in the Strategy Department for Whitbread plc with specific responsibility for the Brewers Fayre restaurants. The Board of Whitbread are asking you to write a report for them on what you think the future direction of Brewers Fayre will be.
You realise that the Government is currently looking at reducing levels of obesity in general as it is costing the National Health Service (NHS) more money than it can afford. This means that your menus may not be appropriate in future. The Government is also thinking of reducing the amount a person can drink and drive and this might affect the number of customers to your restaurants as most are not in residential areas.
