ACTIVITY INSTRUCTIONS

Create an essay in which you describe your topic using the following headings. Plan on 1–2 paragraphs per heading. You were first introduced to these headings in the Unit 3 and Unit 6 studies.

Title. Create a title page with your topic title and other information required. Use current APA guidelines for title page requirements.
Introduction. State what you will cover in your essay.
Research Problem. State the research problem or topic your study will investigate, including its background.
Research Rationale. State the research knowledge gap your study will investigate, including the background, and cite your sources.
Purpose of the Research. State the purpose of the study. Typically, the purpose is to contribute to knowledge. Support your purpose with citations.
Significance of the Study. Describe the significance of your study’s investigation of the research knowledge gap. Include a statement of the study’s particular significance to the field of business.
Research Question. Write out your research question or questions. Do not worry at this point about perfection.
Method Overview. Briefly describe how you might collect data and do the analysis that you might use to conduct the study. Do not worry at this point about perfectly describing the research method.
Research Design. Describe your research design in words, illustrating how you will conduct your research, your participants, a realistic site, and so on.
Approach. Qualitative or quantitative: please state the approach and how it is consistent with your research problem or question.
Design Rationale. Discuss how your design is suited to answering your research question.
The Population. Describe the larger group (population) of people or data in which you are interested. Then describe the participants you will engage in your study. This may be a small segment of the population impacted by the problem you stated. You cannot gather data from everyone, so you need a sample group to involve in your research.
Ethical Considerations. Discuss ethical issues around your proposed research, anticipating anything that might be construed as an ethical issue having to do with people, the organizations you are including in your research, and the method you will use.
Summary and Conclusion.
