Agency and Legal Advocacy

• Explore what agency advocacy is, and how it is beneficial with regard to the self-determination of children and their families.
• Determine an issue that impacts children and their families. Assess how this issue may be related to the operations of an agency. Examine how a human service professional may advocate for something within the agency to be changed in order to benefit children and their family members.
• Assess aspects of legal advocacy, and the role that it plays regarding the self-determination of children and their families.
• Evaluate legal strategies as they relate to advocacy in general, and more specifically advocacy done with children and their families.
