After reading the material on how westward expansion affected Native Americans and the nation’s rationale for that expansion, write a 1000-word essay. How and why did it happen? How should we observe that history today? Critical thought is better than summary, and the use of outside sources is encouraged. Be sure to have a clear thesis/argument stated in your opening paragraph (Remember–the thesis is not the topic; instead, it is what your are arguing about that topic). The paper should be cited and well written while showing your own critical thought on the material.
